  With more than 30 years of experience as a professional tile contractor, and the longest serving Chairman of the NTCA Technical Committee, James Woelfel is an industry expert whose opinion is often sought from contractors, owners, and manufacturers. His technical acumen in ceramic, porcelain and stone tile installation takes him across the country to analyze and evaluate the design, specification, installation and performance of tile, stone, and allied products on any size project.

  He launched J.G. Woelfel & Associates in 2007 with his father, Justin “Butch” Woelfel, who himself has decades of experience in the industry and Chris Woelfel, his wife of 26 years, who has over a dozen years of experience in managing a tile business.

  Additionally, as President of Artcraft Granite, Marble & Tile Company in Mesa, Arizona, James runs the day-to-day operations of a technically adept and multiple award-winning NTCA 5 Star Contractor.

  From estimating to managing jobs and from financials to strategic goal setting, James oversees every aspect of the third-generation family company. He is a tireless advocate for high standards and proper methods as shown in all aspects of his work. His technical knowledge and professional standards are also why he is one of only two tile contractors in the United States to sit on the TCNA Handbook Committee for Tile Installation and the ANSI ASC 108 Committee for ceramic tile installation.

  James stays current with industry standards, methods, and installation techniques by serving on several national installation committees.
