Ralph Williamson

Ralph was born to Ralph and Gretchen Williamson on July 8, 1935 and married his middle/ high school sweetheart and love of his life Joan Arlene Leib on Sept. 10, 1955. Ralph started his lifelong commitment to community service by joining Demolay where he learned the skills of leadership, mentoring and networking – then moving on to be a Mason.

In 1979 he and his family moved to Phoenix, AZ where he soon started his own business – “The House of Tiles”. Soon after his daughter Debbie with two granddaughters left Ohio to join her parents and their son Marc and his two sons. Debbie and Marc joined the family business that they all ran until 2006. Rick remained in the horse business and has remained in sales with the lessons learned from his dad.

Once again in 1982 Ralph was called to service and joined the Peoria Sunset Lions club where he was instrumental in fund raising and memberships drives. Ralph happily served as President several times then went on to serve as a District Governor and a Council Chair for the State of Arizona Lions. He was awarded the Lions Ambassador Of Goodwill by then International President Joe Preston in 2015. He also served on the Board of Directors for the Melvin Jones Lions International Memorial and served as their Board President for many years.

In 2011 Ralph became the Executive Director of the Ceramic Tile and Stone Association of Arizona and served right up until Oct. 2023.

Ralph never met a stranger. With all the wonderful things he accomplished, all the awards and helping others, the most important thing in his life was his family. He enjoyed every minute of being a husband, father – especially being a grandfather and great grandfather.

Our golf tournament honors Ralph’s dedication to the Ceramic Tile and Stone Association and serving the community. He may be gone but his presence will always be felt in our hearts.
